India won against Bangladesh by 5 runs (DLS method) on Wednesday in the Cricket T20 World Cup 2022 after falling short against South Africa. With this victory, India has already surpassed other teams in the points standings. Rain, which was anticipated, ended the game and ruined Bangladesh's strong start to their innings. Against India, Litton Das had a brilliant innings, scoring 60 runs off just 27 balls. Bangladesh led the DLS par score by 17 runs when the game was stopped by rain. At 4:50 PM IST, the game was resumed, with Bangladesh setting a new goal of 151 in 16 overs. KL Rahul's superb direct hit in the eighth over eliminated the on-song hitter, Das, who had given Bangladesh a promising start in the powerplay.

With a stunning 64-run inning, Virat Kohli once more maintained his perfect record. KL Rahul, the Indian opener, scored 50 runs off of 32 deliveries, regaining his much-needed form. The squad reached a comfortable score of 184 thanks to the partnership between the two players and the additional 30 runs from Suryakumar Yadav.
South Africa is currently in second place on the points table with 5 points, trailing India who now leads with 6. Rahul immediately established the tone for India's innings with some beautiful shots. He was still attempting a run-a-ball until he smacked two sixes and a four against Shoriful Islam in the innings' ninth over, which caused things to alter. Additionally, Kohli continued his impressive run of form. When he scored his 16th run in this innings, he broke the record for most runs scored in a T20 World Cup.  India did experience some setbacks as they quickly lost Dinesh Karthik and Axar Patel, but Ravichandran Ashwin played a stunning cameo of 13* from just six deliveries.

He punished Indian bowlers as Bangladesh got off to a strong start, but the weather disrupted their innings. Bangladesh was given a challenging goal by India, but Litton Das first made it seem easy by destroying the Indian new ball attack. At the conclusion of the power play, Das scored his 50 runs in just 21 deliveries. When the game was stopped by rain, the Tigers were up by 66 runs after seven overs. Rohit Sharma appeared to be completely lost throughout the Powerplay overs, as Litton played cover drives, pulls, and smashed sixes behind square while controlling the tempo of the deliveries. After the game resumed after a brief rain delay, Bangladesh lost all momentum. When there were only 10 wickets left and 85 runs needed off the final nine overs. They were 68/0. However, Bangladesh should have performed better after  Das was removed, the team's hopes plummeted.
 Nurul Hasan and Taskin Ahmed delivered valiant blows to bring the score too close for India to handle. While Taskin hit 12* from seven deliveries. Nurul Hasan Sohan wanted to be and almost succeeded. The required run rate was little over nine, but they kept losing wickets. a significant loss appeared inescapable when they lost six wickets. In fact, they lost six in just 36 runs.

LAST THREE OVERS FOR BANGLADESH

With only 42 runs added to the total and six  down due to the rain, Bangladesh is making things very difficult for itself. They have three over left, need 43 runs, and the only known batter at the wicket is Sohan. Bangladesh needed 31 runs in the final two overs, but they lack the reputable batsmen to complete the assignment. In far too little time, they lost far too many wickets. Four and six from Taksin Ahmed were a little startling. But with 20 needed from 7 balls presently, it feels like everything is in India's favour. Another dot ball has just occurred as I'm writing this as Sohan swings for the stars without even pausing to consider where the ball was thrown. India must now stop 20 from the final over. Before the partnership for the seventh wicket between Nurul Hasan Sohan and Taskin Ahmed brought the game to the final pitch, where seven runs were needed but only one was scored. Nurul remained unbeaten as Bangladesh fell just six runs short of the new goal.

Following the rain, Arshdeep (2/38 in 4 overs) changed the tone of the game by getting the dangerous Afif Hossain caught by Surya and the captain Shakib caught by replacement fielder Deepak Hooda at deep mid-wicket. Yasir Ali and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat were then dismissed by Hardik (2/28 in 3 overs), ending the game.
With this victory, India has now all but guaranteed its place in the World Cup semifinals and will face Zimbabwe on November 6 in their final encounter. They now hold the top spot in Group 2 with a respectable NRR of +0.730.
