In the wake of the adoption of the Online Gaming Bill in the parliament a week ago, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was forced to part ways with its primary sponsor, Dream11. This resulted in a significant financial blow for the organization. An early departure of the extremely popular fantasy sports website from its role as the sponsor of the Indian cricket team has occurred as a result of this. The arrangement, which had been inked, had a value of INR 358 crore. However, the BCCI has stated that it is reportedly looking into the possibility of acquiring a new sponsor.
BCCI Parts Ways with Dream11 After Online Gaming Bill Adoption
Prior to the Men's Twenty20 Asia Cup 2025, which will begin on September 9, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently looking for a sponsor. There is also an upcoming Women's One-Day International World Cup, which will take place on September 30 and will be co-hosted by India Women and Sri Lanka. Since this is the case, the most important cricketing governing body in the country is putting a lot of pressure on finding a new primary sponsor.

It has been reported by NDTV that the new arrangement with the new primary sponsor would cost an astounding INR 450 crore. This represents an increase of more than 25 percent compared to the previous agreement with Dream11, which was terminated almost one year before the length of three years that was previously agreed upon. According to reports, the Indian team would get INR 3.5 crore for each bilateral series, which will consist of around 140 matches up to the year 2028. On the other hand, the Indian team will receive INR 1.5 crore for each match in multinational events.

It is expected that the Indian men's team, which will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, will enter the continental tournament with a lineup that is filled with formidable players. They are also the holders of the championship because they won the most recent competition, which took place in 2023 and was played in the 50-over format. The Men in Blue have been placed in Group A of the next competition, which has them competing against some formidable adversaries like as Pakistan, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
They will begin their campaign with a match against Oman on September 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The match will be played against this country. At the flagship match that will take place in Dubai four days later, Suryakumar Yadav's squad will be competing against Pakistan, their most bitter adversary. During the league stage of the Asia Cup, they will finish their matches against the United Arab Emirates on September 19. These matches will take place at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
